Craig Budden

KEARNEY-  Services are pending for Craig C. Budden, 32, of 4011 Avenue E, who died Friday evening , December 20, l985, as a result of injuries received in a helicopter accident 30 miles southeast of Ainsworth.  Arrangements will be announced by Horner-Lieske Mortuary.  The family plans memorials to the hospital's Air Care Helicopter Unit.  

     Budden ws born in Manhattan, Kan., on Nov. 24, 1953 to Donald and Joan (Walno) Budden.  He grew up in Concordia, Kan., and moved to Kearney in 1967.

     He graduated from Kearney High School in 1971 and served in the Army, attaining the rank of warrent officer 2.  He flew helicopters in the Army and was assigned to the National Guard 24 Medical Air Ambulance Section.  For the past two years, he had been employed by Rodgers Helicopter Service Inc. and flew the helicopter for Good Samaritan Hospital's Air Care.

     Survivors are children, Tammy, Carey, Craig II and Joshua Budden, all of Kearney;  his mother, Joan Budden of Phoenix, Ariz.;  brothers, Lt. Donald Budden Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Capt. Christopher Budden of Fort Monroe, Va., and Scott Budden of Glendale, Ariz.;  sister, Brenda Wilson of Broomfield, Colo., Lyna Rascdorf of Rapid City, S.D., and Libby Oberdorf of Banberg, Germany, and his grandparents, Ira and Emma Walno of Loveland, Colo.  He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1983, and his grandparents.

Was a very good pilot for good sam hosp. was good person, All gave some,and some gave all, bye  Craig.

Dave Wendland

Craig was a good friend and I have fond memories of the activities we did together.  I thought about him often wish his family well.
