Sally Lyn Lambertus, 69 of Cozad, left this earth to be with her Lord on Feb. 14, 2023. She was born Sept. 9, 1953, in Kearney, daughter of Joseph and Ardis (Schroeder) Mettenbrink.

Sally attended Kearney Public Schools, graduating in 1971. She worked various jobs in the Lexington area. In 1972 she married Sam Mullin and to this union a daughter, Heather was born. Sally later moved to Cozad where she worked at Tenneco Automotive. In 1982, she married Gary Hall and to this union a daughter, Chelsey was born.

Sally welcomed Robbin as her own, a daughter Gary had from a previous marriage. In 1990, Sally moved to Gothenburg, where she met and married Norm Lambertus who owned and operated the Bar W Lounge. Together the couple both worked the bar while Sally continued to work at Tenneco, retiring in 2000 due to bad health.

Sally enjoyed reading, traveling, and music. Some of her life highlights were trips to: Vegas, California, Virginia, D.C., Florida, Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and many other states and places. She was lucky enough to travel overseas a lot including to the Bahamas, Cancun, Hawaii and all over Europe. She saw the Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Capri, castles in Germany and Bavaria. Sally also visited the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy and was in the audience while the late Pope John Paul II gave a blessing. She rode in a gondola in Venice, Italy; saw the volcanic ruins of ancient Pompeii, the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace in London. She saw the Mayan Pyramids in Tulum/Cancun, Mexico. Sally's big love was concerts and had seen a lot of the "greats", Elvis, Stones, Clapton, Eagles, Prince, Springsteen, Beatles, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, Carpenters, ELO, John Denver and others. She was lucky enough to meet both Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels (after their concerts).

Sally is survived by three daughters, Chelsey (Rickey) Maendele, Robbin (Doyle) Case, and Heather (Dan) Heinemann, all of Cozad; sister, Valerie Duff of Summerville, South Carolina; brother, Joey Mettenbrink of Omaha; grandchildren, Laura, Tanner, Tasia, Lucas, Kody, Chance, and Jury; great-grandchildren, Paizlee, Gary, Jury, Breelyn, Odin, Lazarus, A'keeno, Nettie, Lorelai, Doclen, and Kali; her dog Prince II; niece, Kyla (Nathan) Woelfle of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; nephew, RJ (Jamie) Duff of Pell City, Alabama.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ardis; her husband, Norman Lee Lambertus; brother-in-law, Brad Duff; aunt, Betty (Wendell) Browning; and grandparents.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb, 18, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg at 3 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family to be determined later. To sign the online guest book, go to www.blasestrauser.com.
