KEARNEY - James ""Greg"" Brandt, 68, of Kearney died Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Kearney Regional Medical Center. 
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Masks are required to attend the service. The service will be livestreamed at http://kearneyfirstumc.sermon.net/special. 
Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

James “Greg” Brandt, 68, of Kearney, died March 31, 2021 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., April 8, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Alan Davis officiating. Masks are required to attend the service. Greg was born November 14, 1952 in Kearney to James F. and June (Michel) Brandt. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1971. He attended Kearney State College. 

Greg married Tamara Mulligan on July 4, 1977 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They lived in Kearney and had two sons, James (JB) and Lucas. They later divorced. 

Greg spent most of his life in the residential construction business and was instrumental in developing many subdivisions in Kearney. He took great pride in his building business and was meticulous in every detail. 

Greg was active in the community, and received numerous awards including being inducted into the Kearney High School Athletic Hall of Fame and receiving the 2009 Kearney Hub Freedom Award for Sports. 

Greg is survived by his sons, J.B. and wife Amity; Luke and wife Ashley; Grandchildren, Cole, Cooper, Breckyn and Price Brandt, all of Kearney; Sister, Sandy Harrison and family of Shelby, NE; and Brother Lean Brandt and family of Kearney, NE. 

Greg was preceded in death by his parents.
